Registration Renewals

There are several ways to renew your vehicle's registration.

Online

When renewing a vehicle registration online, a PIN is required to complete your transaction. The PIN can be found on the renewal notice that was sent to you through the US Postal Service.
If your renewal notice has a "stop" sign on it, the vehicle registration does not qualify for online renewal.
Half year renewals and apportioned vehicles are not eligible for online renewal.

In addition to cash or checks, credit and debit cards are accepted (additional 2.25% service fee for credit card payments).

If you choose to mail your payment, make sure that you have the proper U.S. Postal Service postmark date.
Include the bottom portion of our renewal notice.
Make checks payable to Cerro Gordo County Treasurer.

**A Fee of $30.00 will be charged for all dishonored checks, drafts or orders as prescribed in Iowa Code 554.3512. **
