Duties include motor vehicle titling and renewing; process property tax payments; passport applications; court and other fines. High school diploma or GED supplemented by up to one (1) year experience working with the public and/or training. Applicants must be 18 years of age. Starting pay of $20.34 per hour.

Summary:
Provides general clerical and accounting support to the Treasurer; provides assistance to the public and officials conducting business with the Treasurer’s office; and performs additional tasks as may be assigned by the Treasurer. May be temporarily assigned to assist other departments when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Motor Vehicles:
Processes new and renewing vehicle and related registrations; verifies model numbers, license fees, weight, list/sale prices to calculate taxes due.
Processes salvage titles and issues Junking Certificates.
Completes notation of liens on titles and records; releases liens and issues new titles as required.
Property Taxes:
Processes and distributes property tax statements; receipts and records all tax payments. Calculates penalties on past due payments.
Processes tax sales by preparing documents, calculating fees, collecting proceeds of sale, preparing and filing redemption certificates, crediting proceeds to delinquent accounts and issuing receipts.
Assists the public with completion and filing of forms for eligible tax credits, such as Disabled and Elderly, etc.
Mobile Homes: Processes mobile home titles; verifies title information and calculates taxes due; prepares and processes tax clearance forms; indexes payments.
Special Assessments/Drainage Fees: Processes special assessment taxes and drainage fees.
Miscellaneous Receipts: Processes miscellaneous receipts from other county departments. Balances cash/fee sheet; disburses proceeds to departments’ revenue accounts. Maintains records of revenue accounts.
Scans filed documents and updates indexing.
Processes bulk mailing of tax statements and delinquent notices.
Destroy obsolete papers, records and books as requested or required by policy.
Collect and process Department of Revenue and Clerk of Court fines.
Process Passport applications.
Maintains inventory of office supplies, replenishing as may be required. Restocks forms and paper in printers as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
Other Duties:
Assist other departments as assigned in performing duties involving administrative support.
