Lime Creek Littles - Exciting Insects!

Children ages 4-6 with their adults will learn all about insects and what makes them so important through stories, games and exploration! This program will be outside, weather permitting. Please remember to call the nature center to register for this free experience.

For youth completing 9th - 12th grade. Explore Iowa underground! Go caving, hiking, and climbing on a two-night spelunking adventure in Eastern Iowa. This opportunity is all about new experiences, discovering nature, and having fun! Build confidence and grow your abilities. Please note that caving involves crawling through dark, small spaces.

Veterans Hike

The mission of Ruck Iowa is to facilitate fun physical events for veterans, develop lasting relationships, promote positive mental health, and build camaraderie.

Ruck Iowa is hosting a local hike event for veterans that align with their mission statement. Come on a leisurely hike through Clear Lake, IA and build connections with fellow veterans. A meal will be provided at the end of the event as well as door prizes. The hike will start and end at Pine Tree Park Shelter in Clear Lake, IA.

Although the hike is for VETERANS (anyone who has served or is currently serving in any military branch) ONLY

Conservation Coffee Club - Return to the South Nahanni River

Enjoy some social time with coffee, tea and treats followed by a conservation focused program. Dr. Gary Levinson canoed the South Nahanni in the Northwest Territories near the arctic circle with a buddy in 1974. Throughout their marriage, Gary has wanted to share that extraordinary  experience with his wife, Jackie Armstrong. When they reached their 70s in August 2023, they realized that they were not getting any younger and decided that it was now or never.

Join us as they share their adventure dodging Canadian wildfires, rafting, canoeing and swimming in glacier melt streams! 

Cost is $3.00 for nature center members or $5.00 for non-members. Registration deadline July 19.

For youth completing 7th & 8th grade. Water water everywhere! Enjoy outdoor recreation on the water. This camp focuses on teaching and growing skills in fishing and canoeing. Explore  Bluebill lake by boat practicing paddling skills and enjoying the chance to catch some fish at the same time. Explore the Winnebago River on an all day float.

LCNC Member ~ $35/camper and Non-member ~ $40/camper. Lunch and snack is provided each day of camp.
